Day-long instruction and practice in sitting and moving meditation, with opportunities for questions, group discussion, and individual interviews.

Sitting meditation will include stability (shamatha) and insight (vipashyana).

Moving meditation includes the Eight Pieces of Brocade from the Taoist qigong tradition.

Discussion and interviews can cover any aspect of practice that you find challenging, confusing, or inspiring.

These teachings and practices are suitable for beginning and experienced practitioners. The aim is to integrate body, emotions, mind, and activity.

Bring your lunch. There will be chairs, or you can bring your cushion if you prefer.

About the Teacher

George Draffan began his study of Buddhism with Geshe Lhundup Sopa at the University of Wisconsin in the 1970s. He has trained in the Tibetan and Theravada traditions, and in body-based practices including qigong and Feldenkrais. Since 1993 he has been practicing under the guidance of Ken McLeod, who authorized George to teach in 2006. George is a volunteer with the Northwest Dharma Association and helped organize When The Student Is Ready, a new Buddhist portal linking students and teachers. Read more...
